India, the second largest populated country in the world has agriculture as its major occupation. It is the backbone of Indian economy. We also rank the second in largest rice production in world. In every five year plan agriculture is given major importance. Many reforms are continuously planned for farmers to encourage agricultural productivity. Indian Agricultural Research Institute is allocated major funds to innovate modern method that could lead to increased productivity and thereby generate more revenue for the nation. The farmers should also come forward and embrace these techniques which would prove good for them too. Organic farming, which is now serving as the current interest is now being widely publicized which focuses on the reduction of chemicals in agriculture concerning the current health scenario.
